Excitement is mounting for the Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials, with more than 45,000 people expected to journey to Perthshire for Scotland’s premier equestrian event.
The four-day event, which takes place from August 22 to 25, will feature four international eventing classes alongside the Scottish Grassroots Eventing Festival.
Visitors can watch events take place over the four days, including dressage, cross country, Highland pony show, British Show Jumping, Pony Club mounted games, and the Scottish Grassroots Eventing Festival, which debuted at Blair last summer.
Top riders include British Open champion Ben Hobday, William Fox-Pitt, Piggy French and Perthshire-based Wills Oakden, who has four horses competing.
The unique country fair and shopping village will also be on site, with 220 trade stands offering everything from fine art to fudge, jewellery and gin.
Also, look out for Henry the mechanical horse, who will be coming to Blair as part of the Trot To Tokyo campaign. His trip to Scotland is jointly funded by Blair, the BHS and BEF, and he can be found on the BHS trade stand.
Proceeds from a charity gin tasting on Friday evening will go to the event’s 2019 charity, Riding for the Disabled Scotland.
