Fife train journeys have been cancelled after part of the line was left blocked between two towns on Wednesday afternoon.
Rail services through the Kingdom have been called off or delayed due to the fault with the signalling system between Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath.
The issue is affecting journeys heading in the direction of Glenrothes.
ScotRail posted: “Cancellations to services between Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath
due to a fault with the signalling system between Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath the line towards Glenrothes is blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 4pm.”

Network Rail engineers are said to have fixed the fault with normal service expected to resume at about 4pm.
