Three people have been hospitalised following a serious collision on the A9 between Perth and Luncarty
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle crash which occurred at around 2.15pm on the northbound carraigeway.
The road was closed for nearly two hours in both directions as police, fire and rescue, and ambulance crews attended the scene.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the casualties from their cars before they were transported to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were requested at 2.30pm on Thursday, November 14 by emergency service partners to attend the A9 following reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene, where crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove three casualties from the two vehicles.
“All casualties were thereafter passed to Scottish Ambulance Service personnel, and transported to Ninewells Hospital.
“Crews left the scene at 3.37pm.”
Diversions were in place and traffic are being directed to use the C569 (Old A9) and the B9099 to avoid the closure.
The road reopened in both directions around 4pm.
