Major delays hit one of the busiest roads connecting Dundee and Angus on Thursday evening.
Heavy congestion was reported on the A930 Dundee to Monifieth road, with new temporary three-way traffic lights near Grange Road believed to be the cause.
One driver said the journey between Broughty Ferry and Monifieth took her about 40 minutes during rush hour.
Another Monifieth resident said: “I cycle home along the Esplanade but when I came up Bridge Street to join Monifieth Road the traffic was nose-to-tail as far as the eye could see.
“It looked like it was queued right back into Broughty Ferry.
“It was horrendous.”
Balgillo Road is also said to be heavy with traffic.
Our Monifieth posted on Facebook: “The temporary three-way traffic lights at the bottom of Grange Road are causing fairly heavy delays. Take the top road if you can.”
A post on the Tayside Mobile Speed Camera Locations page reads: “Broughty to Monifieth, A930, avoid if possible. Temp traffic lights causing huge tailbacks.”

Just so you're aware, there's temporary traffic lights at Grange Road in Monifieth which is causing delays of ~20 mins atm. Will only get worse as peak time approaches
