A drink-driver was so inebriated he could not remember getting behind the wheel.
Marley MacDonald, 32, was more than four times over the legal alcohol limit when police found his car on a grass verge on the A92.
When officers asked him if he had been drinking, MacDonald admitted he had been on a boozing session.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, MacDonald, of Pitcorthie Drive, Dunfermline, admitted driving a car having consumed excess alcohol on the A92 at Lochgelly slip road and elsewhere on November 24.
His reading was 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.
Officers had received numerous calls from people concerned about MacDonald’s erratic driving at around 12.45am, the court heard.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said there were concerns about a blue BMW which was seen repeatedly “bumping against the kerb”.
Police found MacDonald’s car near Lochgelly.
Mr Yousaf said: “Something had happened which stopped him from opening the driver’s door so he got out the passenger side.”
Defence solicitor Gwenn Haggerty said her client had gone out drinking with friends and had intended to leave his car at the pub.
She said: “He has little memory of the incident.
“He thinks he was trying to get back to his partner’s address.”
Sheriff James MacDonald banned MacDonald from driving for 16 months and imposed a £670 fine.
