Stagecoach are focused on keeping key workers and communities on the move during these unprecedented times.
They’ve seen first-hand how hard key workers across Britain are working as part of the national effort to beat Coronavirus, so they’re proud to play their part.
“We’re extremely proud of all the great work that our own teams are doing to keep the country moving, including getting our vital healthcare workers to hospitals,” says Chief Executive, Martin Griffiths.
To keep services safe for employees and customers, Stagecoach is strictly following government, public health and World Health Organisation guidelines.
As a result, a number of extra measures have been put in place, including:
1 Contactless payments
All passengers are asked to pay by contactless wherever possible, or have the correct change for their journey if they can.
Alternatively, payments can be made online or via the Stagecoach Bus App.
2 PPE
Safety comes first. Stagecoach have supplied thousands of facemasks and bottles of personal hand sanitiser to employees, with larger refill bottles available at depots.
3 Security screen
As an extra measure for drivers, all buses are now fitted with security screens. These have been adapted to provide a barrier to help prevent transmission of the virus.
4 Enhanced cleaning
Stagecoach has launched an enhanced cleaning regime of buses and workplaces.
This is being strictly adhered to and includes extensive cleaning of key touch-points such as ticket machines, hand poles and cash trays.
5 Essential travel
To help customers use Stagecoach services as safely as possible, the company has implemented extensive communications asking people only to travel if necessary.
Communications have also advised customers to practice social distancing by using a single row per person if possible, avoiding the two rows directly behind the driver and keeping a safe distance between the driver and other passengers.
