Resurfacing work will go ahead on the A92 between Lochgelly and Cowdenbeath later this month.
The southbound stretch of the route is used by around 20,000 vehicles a day and the road is in need of maintenance.
Works will begin at 7.30pm on Friday April 22 and continue on a 24 hour basis until 6.30am on Monday April 25.
A contraflow will be in place and the Lochgelly sliproad will be closed.
Andy Thompson from BEAR Scotland said: “The resurfacing has been scheduled to take place over one weekend to minimise delays, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
