A busy road was blocked and rail services affected after a lorry collided with a bridge in Perth on Monday afternoon.
ScotRail trains were delayed as result of the crash involving an HGV on Tay Street at about 2.10pm.
Network Rail engineers were called to the scene and carried out an inspection of the crossing.
Police were called to the Perth road following the incident and blocked off one lane.
Network Rail workers could be seen accessing the underside of the bridge via a ladder.
The bridge was deemed safe with the line reopened at about 2.50pm. However service delays persisted until about 5pm.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “The bridge was struck on Monday afternoon and closed for a short while for safety checks.
“The structure was undamaged and reopened to trains later in the afternoon.”
Earlier a police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is currently in attendance at Tay Street, Perth, after a road traffic crash involving a lorry and a railway bridge. There are no reports of injuries.”
A ScotRail statement issued not long after the incident read: “Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Perth and Dundee trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines (between Dundee and Glasgow Queen Street).
“Disruption is expected until 5pm.”
