Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to a four-car crash on one of Fife’s busiest roads on Wednesday.
There was major congestion after the vehicles were involved in the collision on the A92 Dundee to Crossgates road, near Cowdenbeath, at about 2pm.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene, which left one maroon car on its side.
Two fire and rescue appliances, one from Kirkcaldy and another from Sighthill in Edinburgh, were called to the incident at 2.05pm. However they were not required on arrival.
The eastbound section of the road was closed off following the incident.
Congestion was heavy in the area as a result of the crash, with a huge queue of traffic seen tailing back behind the vehicles.
Earlier, a police spokesman said: “It came into us at about 2pm – a four-vehicle crash near the Cowdenbeath exchange.
“The road does look as if it is closed. Ambulance attended.”
Traffic Scotland posted: “Traffic remains slow on the A92 northbound after Cowdenbeath following a multi-vehicle RTC.
“Lane two of two has reopened, however traffic remains slow with a travel time of 20 minutes. Surrounding areas look very slow too.”
