Roadworks costing almost £240,000 are set to take place on two stretches of the A9 Perth to Dunblane road.
As a result, motorists are being advised that they may experience delays and to leave plenty time for their journey.
The resurfacing work will begin on the southbound carriageway of the busy road at Blueton Farm, located between Blackford and Greenloaning, for three nights, starting on Sunday.
Works are then planned for a second section of the route southbound between Windyedge Farm and the B934 Forteviot junction for two nights starting on Wednesday.
Both sets of roadworks, which will cost £236,000, will take place each night from 7.30pm until 6.30am the following morning.
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland said: “For the protection of roadworkers as well as motorists, a convoy system of traffic management will be in place during the overnight working hours at both schemes.
“Consultation has taken place with local residents and stakeholders in advance of this resurfacing, and made them aware of the traffic management arrangements, and our plans to minimise any inconvenience caused.”
And Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east representative, added: “These works will address any defects in the road at both locations, improving the general condition and safety of the road for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption by scheduling both sets of works to take place overnight, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
The roadworks will take place at the same time as resurfacing work is being carried out on the M90 Perth to Inverkeithing motorway, in Kinross-shire. Phased work has been taking place for a couple of weeks between junction four (Kelty) and junction five (Crook of Devon), and is part of an overall £1.4m scheme lasting until June.
This work will repair a total length of 3.8km of the carriageway, as well as replacing some of the joints in the surface.
