A man has died after being hit by a bus near Brechin on Monday night.
The A90, the main route between Dundee and Aberdeen, was closed for several hours overnight following the incident, which happened at 9.05pm.
The 63-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was struck by a single decker bus.
Despite emergency services rushing to the scene the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver and three passengers were unhurt.
The road reopened at 3.42 am on Tuesday.
Inspector Greg Burns from Tayside road policing unit appealed for witnesses to come forward.
He said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the crash. The road was closed for a considerable time to allow crash investigations to be carried out but has now re-opened.
“I would appeal to anyone who was driving on the road shortly before the crash to come forward. I would ask anyone with dash-cam footage to also contact us.”
