Scotland’s transport minister has assured the heartbroken grandparents of a young boy killed on the A92 that road safety is his top priority.
Humza Yousaf told Robert and Alice Brown that the installation of a crossing point at the site of their grandson’s death would be challenging but not insurmountable.
His comments are the closest indication yet that measures will be taken to make the stretch of the road through Glenrothes safer.
A report on exactly what can be done to cut the number of accidents between Balfarg and Cadham junctions will be complete by the end of this year.
Mr and Mrs Brown have been at the forefront of efforts to improve safety since their nine-year-old grandson Logan Carrie was killed as he tried to cross there in February last year.
Mr Yousaf said: “I can see for myself that we need to keep working on it to make it safer.
