Peak time commuters experienced delays on Monday due to the start of roadworks on the outskirts of Perth.
Perth and Kinross Council had already warned commuters they may have to car share or use public transport due to disruption caused by the work to create a new junction on the A9 along with a link road to the Berth Park development, which is to be located to the west of the city.
The works, part of the Perth Transport Futures Project, began on Sunday night on the A9 between the Broxden and Inveralmond roundabouts.
Major engineering works will be carried out on the A9 and A85 slip road in three phases.
Motorists faced outside lane closures on the northbound carriageway on their way to work on Monday, with most drivers experiencing delays of around 10 minutes.
