The 26-year-old driver of the vehicle is in custody. He is said to be a US Navy veteran and US citizen.
The incident is not believed to be terror-related.
The crash took place at 45th Street and Broadway at about 5pm local time.

Hoping that car crash in Times Square was just an accident and not intentional. Thinking of all of those affected.

Can see the car crash from my floor. Car hit multiple people in Times Square. Looks like it went down the wrong side of the street.
