Road works due to start on Wednesday evening on the A92 at Glenrothes have been postponed until Friday June 23.
The resurfacing work affect the carriageway between Preston roundabout and Tullis Russell roundabout.
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland said: “Due to unforeseen delays on another worksite, which have impacted availability of our subcontractor, we have reprogrammed works to commence this Friday rather than Wednesday evening.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and encourage motorists to stay up to date by checking the Traffic Scotland website for real time information.”
Work will now start on Friday evening and will run for eight nights.
The overnight resurfacing will now take place from 7.30pm to 6.30am.
The improvements will be completed by 6.30am on Saturday July 1.
During the work a full road closure will be in place between the two roundabouts with a full closure of the Tullis Russell roundabout in place overnight on June 23, 24 and 25.
During the closures, all vehicles heading northbound will be diverted off the A92 at Preston roundabout and then diverted via the A911 Queensway and B969 Western Avenue which they can then rejoin the A92 at Balfarg.
Southbound traffic will be diverted via the B969 Western Avenue to Leslie roundabout and A911 Queensway when they will then rejoin the A92 at Preston roundabout.
There will be no access to the A92 from the B9130 from Markinch overnight on June 23, 24 and 25 when Tullis Russell roundabout is closed.
