A Dundee driver says he was “worried” for people’s safety when he encountered a van driving the wrong way along a dual carriageway in the city.
The man, who did not wish to be named, was driving south on Old Glamis Road, near Caird Park, shortly before 9am when he was shocked to see the van appear at the brow of the hill.
The section of road is dual carriageway and the van driver appears to have entered on the wrong side at the roundabout with Gillburn Road and Forres Avenue.
The witness said: “I was worried for myself and other road users.
“I think the van driver must have realised that he was on the wrong side, because he was driving slowly.
“But he had obviously decided to carry on to the next roundabout rather than stop.”
The witness has joined the growing number of people who use dashcams to record their journeys.
He said: “I got one after a relative was involved in a collision that was not her fault. After appearing to accept the blame, the other driver later denied responsibility and it meant her insurance premiums went through the roof.”
The van involved in Tuesday morning’s incident was from energy efficiency firm Job Worth Doing.
A spokesman for the company declined to comment when contacted by The Courier.
