Paramedics and police were called to the vehicle in the city centre after the woman became ill. Emergency services were called to the Nethergate where the number 73 Stagecoach service to Arbroath pulled over around noon on Thursday. Passengers were transferred on to other buses while the woman was treated on the top deck. One passenger described seeing the woman, who was with a man, getting on the Arbroath-bound service. He said: “They seemed to be staggering a little but seemed OK. “They went up stairs but a short time later the man came down and said he couldn’t wake his partner up. “He said he thought she had overdosed.” A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland was called to a bus on Nethergate after reports of concern for a woman. “Ambulance personnel attended and dealt with the incident.” It is understood the woman recovered following the incident.
