Flights to and from Scotland have been cancelled and police have urged motorists across Tayside to drive cautiously after temperatures plummeted to -11C overnight.
A Met Office yellow warning for snow and ice is in place for the region, and neighbouring Grampian, until noon today, and another will be in place from 3pm until 11am on Tuesday.
Tayside is once again expected to dodge the worst of the conditions with no snow forecast for Dundee, however wintry showers will hit the east coast of Scotland overnight.
Flights to and from Edinburgh and Glasgow have been cancelled as a result of the freezing weather, with journeys in and out of Aberdeen International Airport also affected.
British Airways said Heathrow Airport is “continuing to experience severe adverse weather conditions” and reduced its flight schedule for Monday.Â

Chillingham, Northampton, was the coldest place in the country from Sunday into Monday after the mercury dropped to -12.8C.
Dalwhinnie was the coldest place in Scotland at -11.3C, closely followed by -11.1C in Dumfriesshire and Tyndrum, in rural West Perthshire, at -10.6C.
And temperatures are expected to plummet again overnight.
Met Office spokesman Grahame Madge said: “Looking forward to tonight we have got, quite widely temperatures dropping to below freezing which could present an ice risk down the eastern side of Scotland, where there are also showers feeding in which could have a wintry component to them.
“Temperatures quite widely will drop to below freezing as we go through the night, with quite widespread frost. It could be -2C quite widely and around already lying snow -4C.”
A Met Office statement said: “Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with some journey times taking longer.
“There will probably be icy stretches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths with some injuries from slips trips and falls.”
A Tayside Police Division statement said: “Police Scotland are advising road users to take extra care due to the weather conditions.
“Please consider if your journey is necessary and allow extra time to get to your destination, driving to the road conditions being wary of ice or snow on the roads.”

Traffic Scotland said: “If you are travelling you should ensure you and your vehicle are adequately prepared for the conditions making sure you have sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water in the event you are delayed for several hours.
“Charge your mobile phone and plan your route as well as alternative routes.”
