Forecasters have told locals to prepare for further freezing conditions in Tayside and Fife on Friday.
Wintry showers are due to make a return, with the Met Office placing a yellow warning for snow and ice effective across the region from Thursday until midnight tomorrow.
The forecaster has warned of further travel disruption as the freezing conditions return.
It comes after heavy snowfall brought chaos to Scotland’s roads earlier this week, causing a spate of crashes and traffic problems on roads across Perthshire and Fife.
Dundee, which has once again dodged the worst of the snowy conditions, is not within Friday’s warning area; however much of Perthshire and Fife could be affected.
The worst of the snow showers will be in the north-west of Scotland, with hail and sleet more likely near “windward coasts”.
A Met Office statement said: “Snow showers will affect the northwest of the UK during Thursday and Friday, although often falling as sleet and hail near windward coasts. Ice will also form in some areas overnight.
“Travel delays on roads are likely, as are public transport cancellations. In a few places, mainly upland areas, vehicles may become stranded. There is a chance of power cuts, while services such as mobile phone coverage may be affected.
“A few rural communities may become cut off. In addition some roads and pavements will turn icy, increasing the chances of accidents or injuries.”
