Train services between Fife and Edinburgh have been seriously disrupted after a signal fault on the Forth Bridge.
ScotRail said services between Edinburgh and Glenrothes via Dunfermline and/or Kirkcaldy were suspended, while Edinburgh to Dundee and Cowdenbeath local services were also suspended.
It said long distance services were still due to run but were likely to face delays.
A spokesperson said: “Signalling engineers are already on site, and they’re awaiting access to the track in order to begin investigating and restoring the signalling to normal.”

The problems came just a few hours after a train fault at North Queensferry also caused significant disruption in the area, with many services subject to cancellations, delays or revision.
