Motorists were told to avoid using the Tay Road Bridge while police dealt with an incident on Monday afternoon.
Traffic was disrupted on the crossing after emergency services were called to the scene before 3pm, with the southbound section closed until about 3.40pm.
The Broughty Ferry lifeboat was called out just after 3pm, however it is not yet known if this is linked to the incident on the crossing.
Tayside Police Division posted: “Police are currently in attendance at the Tay Road Bridge after an incident there.
“Traffic is very restricted and there are large queues. Please try and avoid the area, and if you can’t, please be patient as we get things moving again. Thank you.”
