Dundee’s new “People’s Piano” went down a storm on its first weekend at the city’s railway station.
The brand-new Yamaha U3 was installed on the platform level of the busy stop-off last Thursday following an incredible crowdfunding appeal spearheaded by locals.
A piano was originally donated to the new station upon its opening in July by Dundonian Dave Patterson, 86, in memory of his wife Jean.
However in late August it was targeted by vandals and damaged to such an extent it had to be removed.
Locals quickly launched a crowdfunder to pay for a new instrument to be put in its place. It raised £4,702 and led the to the new piano being installed ahead of V&A Dundee’s opening weekend.
And the piano has gone down a storm at the station on its first few days in place.
People have been taking to social media to post photos and videos of musicians of all abilities tickling the ivories as they arrive or prepare to depart Dundee.

The instrument is now located on the platform level of the station at the foot of the escalators – meaning anyone can use it and rail staff will also be able to keep a closer eye on its security.
