A man is in hospital with “serious injuries” following a crash which forced the closure of an Angus road.
Police were called to the two-vehicle accident on the B9113 Forfar to Montrose between Gowanbank and Pitkennedy on Tuesday at 8am.
The incident involved a silver-grey Vauxhall Astra and a black Ford Ranger.
A 26-year-old man, a passenger in the Astra, was taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries following the collision.
The road remains closed.
A Tayside Police Division spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after a road traffic collision which happened this morning (Tuesday, October 9) on the B9113.
“The two vehicle collision happened at 8am and involved a silver-grey coloured Vauxhall Astra and a black Ford Ranger.
“The 26 year old male passenger in the Vauxhall Astra was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries.
“Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to the collision to come forward.
“The road is currently closed to allow for crash investigation to be carried out.
“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0541 or speak to any police officers.
