A section of Dunnikier Road was closed for two hours in the wake of the incident at 11.55am to allow Network Rail to assess any damage. The bridge, near the junction with Victoria Road, carries the main east coast railway line. It is not yet confirmed whether trains were halted. Police Scotland said the lorry driver was uninjured but the accident led to severe congestion in the area. The road reopened at 1.30pm.
