Overrun engineering works in Glasgow has caused train cancellations across the whole of Scotland this morning.
ScotRail has been forced to call off services, including the 8.08am running to Dundee and another which was due to leave from Perth at 7.01am, after a road-rail vehicle broke down at the city’s Queen Street Station.
Delays, cancellations and disruption are expected until 10am.
Network Rail said: “We’re sorry for the disruption to services at Glasgow Queen Street this morning this was due to a road rail vehicle breaking down while we were working overnight.
“It had to be moved before trains could run. Sorry.”
A ScotRail statement said: “Following engineering works not being finished on time at Glasgow Queen Street all lines are now open.
“Train services running to and from this station are returning to normal but some services will still be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 10am.
“The road/rail vehicles have been removed and we are working hard to get services back on schedule but severe disruption is on going.
“Passengers can use train services to/from Queen Street low level and also trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Via Shotts as these routes are not affected.”
