Hamish Farquharson, from Ballater, was critically injured in the two-car collision on the A93, a mile north of Blairgowrie. A woman in the second vehicle was left with serious injuries after the tragedy, which happened just after 8pm on Thursday. Police Scotland confirmed 19-year-old Mr Farquharson died in hospital on Saturday. A spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends and they have asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.” The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course. Any witnesses are urged to contact investigators on 101, quoting reference number 3716 of October 25.
