Residents in 70 Angus postcodes are without power this morning after a crash closed part of the A90 near Forfar.
Police and ambulance crews were in attendance after a vehicle travelling northbound collided with a power line at Bogindollo near Finavon.
The road was closed in both directions for more than an hour after the accident at 7.30am, causing congestion.
Properties in Dundee city centre were also hit by a power cut on Wednesday afternoon, while another one affected rail services between the city and Carnoustie.

Whilst the road has since reopened, engineers will return “later today” to allow permanent repairs to take place.
SSE confirmed has confirmed the incident has caused a widespread loss of power in the area and has listed the areas affected.
The company said in a statement: “We’re sorry for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.”
Restoration was expected at 11.30am.
A police spokesman said that the vehicle was occupied by a female who was shaken but not injured.
A police statement said: “Diversions are in place and engineers are en route to repair the damage as soon as possible.”
A ScotRail statement read: “Due to failure of the electricity supply between Carnoustie and Dundee…train services running through these stations will be delayed by up to 10 minutes.
“Disruption is expected until 2pm.”
Police said the road had reopened at about 9.40am.

A SSE spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to road users and our customers following this morning’s road traffic incident which brought down overheard power lines resulting in the closure of the A90 to allow our engineers and the other agencies to safely respond to the situation.
“While the road has since reopened, we are working with Police Scotland and Bear Scotland to arrange another short closure later today to allow permanent repairs on the affected overheard network to take place safely.
“We would like to thank our customers and road users for their continued patience as we work to restore power to the remaining customers still affected.”
