A bus driver and passenger were both injured after a thug threw a stone through the vehicle’s windscreen.
The Stagecoach 73A was travelling near Orchar Park on Monifieth Road in Broughty Ferry, around 5.10pm on Thursday when the incident occurred.
The stone smashed the windscreen of the bus and hit the driver on the neck.
Passengers were showered with glass and one woman had to be taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment after glass went into her eye.
The driver also suffered injuries to his neck.
A spokesman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “The potential consequences of this incident could have been horrendous, had the driver been struck in the head and the bus then crashed.
“Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured on this occasion, but the outcome could potentially have been far worse.
“Unfortunately no descriptions of the person or persons responsible are available at this time, however the bus CCTV is being checked.”
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: “This kind of behaviour is potentially dangerous and totally unacceptable.
“We are assisting police with their inquiries into this incident and will help them in any way we can to track down those responsible.”

The incident comes just over a week after a bus was struck by a traffic cone thrown from the roof of the Wellgate Centre in Dundee.
The impact of the traffic cone shattered the windscreen of the 29 Xplore bus, showering the driver with glass.
