A Navy seaman has been handed a three-year driving ban and a £640 fine after he was caught while five-and-a-half times the drink-drive limit. Leading hand Alain Waterston, who is based at Faslane, was found behind the wheel of his Audi A6 on Haddington Avenue, Dundee, on December 28. He was stopped after a garden fence was damaged in a crash near his home. Dundee Sheriff Court heard he had 121 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – more than five times the limit of 22. Waterston, 41, of Haddington Avenue, pled guilty to charges of drink-driving and failing to stop and report an accident.
