The main road between Comrie and Perth was blocked for almost seven hours by a fallen tree.
Traffic Scotland said the road was likely to be closed “for some time” following the Wednesday morning incident.
The tree landed on the road near Crieff.
On Wednesday morning a spokesman for Police Scotland said: “The A85 is currently closed near Crieff at Auchtertyre due to a fallen tree.
“BEAR Scotland are in attendance and are attempting to remove it.
“Local diversions are in place but the area is best avoided if possible.”
The road was reopened at about 3pm.
Traffic Scotland posted: “The A85 both ways in Crieff has now reopened after the fallen tree blocked the road. Thanks to @NWTrunkRoads for dealing with the incident.”
