A busy Perth road ground to a halt on Monday night after a bus collided with a sports car.
The incident, which happened just before 8pm near Perth Royal Infirmary, involved a Mazda MX-5 and a Stagecoach bus.
The car was heading towards the Glasgow Road and the Number One service which had just turned into Rose Crescent.
A Police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland attended at Rose Crescent in Perth at 7.50pm on Monday, April 8, after a road traffic collision involving a bus and car.”
Officers are continuing to investigate the collision and confirmed that they have not yet made any charges or issued anyone with a penalty.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: “We received a call at 7.44pm on Monday, April 8, to attend a road traffic collision on Rose Crescent in Perth.
“We dispatched a paramedic response unit to the scene.”
It is understood that a man suffered a head injury in the crash, however paramedics confirmed that he was treated at the site and did not travel to hospital.
An eyewitness said: “I was driving home from work and I couldn’t get into Rose Crescent.
“A dark coloured Mazda MX-5 was strewn across the road and a bus was blocking it in.
“The car must have been written off there and then as it had suffered heavy damage to its front.
“It was blocking the junction diagonally and there was debris from the car all across the road.
“The emergency services hadn’t arrived so the road wasn’t closed off yet and it looked like there was about ten people or so still on the bus.”
Stagecoach had to divert their services via Riggs road following the crash.
