Train services between Dundee and Aberdeen were affected on Tuesday morning after a lorry struck a railway bridge.
The collision took place between on the A92 Montrose to Dundee road at Inverkeilor and caused delays to journeys travelling between the two cities just after 7am.
About 11 train journeys were affected.
Network Rail said an engineer had assessed the bridge following the incident and concluded the structure was undamaged.
He added: “First indication come in just after 7am. Police Scotland said a lorry had struck a bridge on the A92 in Inverkeilor.
“It was undamaged. It was inspected by a structures engineer. We are back to normal working.”
Earlier ScotRail tweeted: “A road vehicle has collided with a bridge between Montrose and Arbroath.
“Services need to cross this bridge at a reduced speed until Network Rail have inspected it. As a result, all services through these stations will be delayed by up to 10 minutes.”
It is still running. Somebody crashed a road vehicle into a bridge, so trains are having to cross over it slowly until engineers have checked it over. ^Angus

Rail services started travelling at normal speeds at about 8.45am.
UPDATE: The engineer has confirmed that the bridge can now be crossed at full speed again, thanks for your patience. Services will now start to return to normal. ^Angus

It comes exactly two weeks after an HGV was left mangled following a collision with a railway bridge in Angus.
The bridge on the A92 near Inverkeilor has been struck by HGVs several times in the past, including in March 2019.
