Train services between Edinburgh and Dundee, Inverness and Glenrothes with Thornton may be cancelled, delayed or revised on Friday afternoon after a passenger took ill at Kirkcaldy.
Emergency services were called to Kirkcaldy train station shortly after 2pm to attend to the passenger, who took unwell on the train.
Services running through Fife were halted as a result, and ScotRail has warned that disruption could run into the early evening.
UPDATE: The ill passenger has now been helped off the train at Kirkcaldy and services are now moving again. Some services may still be delayed or revised whilst we get units and crew back into position.
