A car landed on its roof following a crash on one of Perthshire’s busiest roads on Wednesday morning.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the A9 Perth to Inverness road between the Luncarty and Stanley junctions at about 9.20am.

An eyewitness said the car was travelling slowly when the driver struck a barrier “at an angle”, causing the vehicle to flip on to its roof.

Two occupants were helped from the car following the incident.

The pair suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

Two fire and rescue appliances from Perth were also called to the scene.

A spokesman for the service said: “At 9.23am the call came in. The stop message was at 9.41am. A vehicle was on its roof.

“The occupant was released prior to our arrival and into the hands of the ambulance.”

Nearby road workers are said to have assisted the emergency services in clearing up the road following the crash.

The A9 was not closed as the incident was dealt with, however drivers were urged to approach the area with “caution”.

A Tayside Police Division statement issued on Wednesday morning read: “Police Scotland is in attendance at a road traffic collision on the A9 between the Luncarty and Stanley turnoffs.

“A car has landed upside down, fortunately there are no apparent serious injuries.

“The road has not been closed, but please use caution when driving past the incident.”
