Trains between Dundee and Aberdeen have been cancelled after a lorry crashed into a bridge.
The collision took place at a crossing near Fordoun on Monday morning at about 10am.
A string of journeys through Angus were called off. North-east services were also forced to either terminate at or start from Dundee.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “At the back of 10am it was reported a low loader had struck one of our bridges near Fordoun. The line was closed and we sent engineers out to examine at about 11am.
“There was no damage to the structure. It (the line) reopened at 11.15am. It should be back up and running.”
The following journeys between Aberdeen and Montrose were cancelled due to the incident:
- 10.24am Aberdeen to Montrose
- 10.50am Montrose to Aberdeen
- 11.25am Aberdeen to Montrose
- 12.03pm Montrose to Aberdeen
- 12.42pm Montrose to Aberdeen
The 10.46am Aberdeen to Glasgow train started in Dundee.
The 8.31am Edinburgh to Aberdeen journey was delayed at Laurencekirk, as was the 8.39am Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen one at Montrose.

The 9.28am Edinburgh to Aberdeen train terminated at Dundee, with passengers told to catch the 11.07am service to the Granite City.
ScotRail posted: “Cancellations to services between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven
Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge earlier today between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven all lines are closed.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 12.30pm.”
UPDATE: An inspection of the bridge has been carried out, the line has now reopened but some disruption is still expected.

The crash is continuing to cause a knock-on effect on afternoon services.
