Motorists are being urged to plan ahead following major tailbacks on a busy Perth bridge. The Friarton Bridge is currently down to one lane in each direction and will remain partially closed until Monday morning. Traffic has been tailed back well into the Carse of Gowrie waiting to cross the Friarton Bridge. Tailbacks stretching for miles were spotted by onlookers from the top of Kinnoull Hill. Transport Scotland warned that as much as half an hour could be added to journeys over the bridge, which connects the A90 and M90. Delays of as much as half an hour are to be expected. Vehicles heading southbound queued beyond Walnut Grove to get onto the bridge on Saturday afternoon. The works are expected to last until 6.30am on Monday. ??#M90? 13.52?Contraflow is in place at the Friarton Bridge for roadworksWorks are in place until 6.30am MondayReported travel time of approx 30 min both ways#DriveSafe #PlanAhead #ExpectDelays pic.twitter.com/2ECMWfNpUJ — Traffic Scotland (@trafficscotland) June 29, 2019
