A motorist who sped past an unmarked police car at 112mph was stopped and found to be in a car which smelled strongly of cannabis.
Daniel Altimime was rushing home at the end of his week working as an administrator when he raced past the mobile police patrol during rush hour.
Depute fiscal Catriona MacQueen told Perth Sheriff Court yesterday that Altimime drove for several miles at speed before officers were able to pull him over.
She said: “He was shown the speed detected and given a warning. On returning him to his vehicle they could detect a smell of cannabis from within.
“From within the centre console of the car the accused handed over a bag of green herbal substance.”
She said the package tested positive for nearly three grams of cannabis and when Altimime was interviewed by officers he said: “Sorry, man.”
Altimime, 26, of Pinefield Glade, Livingston, admitted speeding at 112mph on the M90 between Inverkeithing and Perth and having cannabis on the A90 at Kinfauns on June 29 last year.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio fined Altimime £560 and banned him from driving for 144 days.
