A bridge offering a shortcut to one of Highland Perthshire’s most popular forest walks has been shut amid concerns about its structure.
The Carie crossing at Loch Rannoch, just north of Forestry and Land Scotland’s (FLS) Kilvrecht campsite, will remain closed until further notice after defects were discovered in a recent inspection.
Fiona Robertson, FLS visitor services manager, said: “It will mean a slightly longer walk for anyone at the campsite that wants to do the Allt na Bogair walk. They will have to go back to the main road to cross the burn, but the walk itself is unaffected.”
She apologised for any inconvenience, and said FLS is now considering its options.
