A Fife motorcyclist has died following a crash on a busy Scots road.
Billy McCracken, from Cowdenbeath, died in Wishaw General Hospital after his Harley Davidson collided with a central reservation on the M74 Glasgow to Abington road, near Uddington, on Sunday at about 3.45pm.
The 50-year-old was heading northbound when his motorcycle left the road close to the Happendon (J11) junction.
Police are seeking witnesses to the collision.
Sergeant Jonny Edgar of the force’s road policing unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this motorcycle being driven on the M74, or indeed seen the collision take place.
“You may also have dash-cam footage from around that time and we would ask you to check back and come forward with it. It could hold the key piece of information that will help us establish exactly what happened.”
“Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 3066 of Sunday, July 28 2019.”
