Motorists have been warned of potential delays as a section of the A9 southbound is to undergo roadworks over the weekend.
The work, between Broom of Dalreoch and Aberuthven, is to begin at 7.30pm on Friday and is expected to be complete by 6.30am on September 2.
Overnight lane closures will be put in place on Thursday evening on both the northbound and southbound carriageways to accommodate for traffic management being put in place ahead of the works over the weekend.
The work comes as part of a £190,000 carriageway resurfacing improvement plan. This will involve improvements to road markings as well as the resurfacing repairs.
BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, Andy Thompson said: “The traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists during the project.
“To help minimise delays as much as possible, we’ve planned the improvements to take place over one weekend using 24-hour working, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thanks motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A9.”
Road users travelling along the affected route during this time are urged to plan in advance and check the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date traffic information.
