Brewdog has announced plans to open pubs in Perth and St Andrews this year.
The Scottish brewery intends to open six new bars in Scotland, four in England and in seven international locations in 2018.
The craft beer giant, which already has a pub in Dundee’s Panmure Street, announced its expansion plans plans during an AGM for its thousands of equity investors.
Brewdog said the St Andrews bar will be at the site of the current Rascals Bar on North Street.
However, Rascals later denied the suggestion through its social media channels.
“Some of you may have heard or read the news,” it wrote on Facebook.
“We would like to inform you that this news is FALSE. Rascals has not been sold and no deal has been done with BrewDog.
“This article came as news and a shock to us whilst working today.
Brewdog said its Perth location is still to be confirmed.
Co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie announced that Brewdog’s sales rose by 78% and revenue up by 55% last year.
They also revealed they had purchased London-based cider company Hawkes.
The other Scottish bars due to open this year are Inverurie, Peterhead, Glasgow and Edinburgh Airport.
The international locations for new bars include Seoul, Paris, Barcelona and Reykjavik.
