Continuing our look back at some of the old Sporting Queries, which were so popular in the Sporting Post.

In March 1994, ‘SB’ asked:

Did Neil Ruddock, Matthew Le Tissier and Alan Shearer (left) play for Southampton, nicknamed The Saints, in a friendly against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

SPQ answer – Yes.

All three turned out in a 0-0 draw against Saints on August 2, 1991.
