Tuesday was a painful night for me watching my other team Manchester United crash out of the Champions League.
At one point we were going through because CSKA Moscow had taken the lead at PSV but only for two minutes before the Dutch team equalised.
Then, a flukey own goal was sending us through — but again only for a couple of minutes before we chucked it away.
It’s not been a lot of fun being a Man U fan this season but I can see it’s a work in progress.
I’m not one for knee-jerk ‘sack the manager’ calls but Louis van Gaal has to recover quickly or the fans will turn against him completely.
Scoring goals has been a big problem and it looked like United had forgotten that when Martial scored but then they also forgot to keep up the meanest defence in England by letting Wolfsburg wander through and score twice.
The Red Devils had big defensive problems last season and Van Gaal has sorted them.
Now he needs to sort out the attack.
