There’s plenty of changes going on in the Dundee United playing squad at the moment but one guy they need back as soon as possible is Paul Paton.
I have to admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of the former Partick midfielder but he’s got that anger and fire in the middle of the park United are crying out for.
The Tangerines are knee-deep in a relegation fight and they need as many battlers in their team as they can get — Paton is certainly one of those.
The man can spot a pass as well and United need to get him fit — his return date of Christmas-time can’t come quickly enough.
In terms of the new boys coming in, it’s plain to see Paatelainen wants some old heads in to help the younger guys in the squad.
Guy Demel hasn’t played much over the last two years but I remember him as a strong defender and he could do a job for United.
For me, though, finding someone who can supply Billy Mckay should be the priority — only two goals scored in Mixu’s six games is nowhere near enough to survive.
