Blether with Brown: Ronnie netted in Craigie final

My former Douglas Amateurs team-mate Ronnie Stark responded to a tale from January 27.

Re your column titled ‘Four cups for Bobby’s team, then enter wee Paynie’, we beat St Mary’s Lochee 5-2 at Craigie Park in 1967.

“Myself and Billy Renton scored and Payne scored as well.

“We won the league and cup and lost just one game that season against Macalpine in the semi-final of the Junior Sports Cup.

“I’ve enclosed a photo of Gillburn school team at that time.”
