Peter said: “Can you find out about the football career of my late uncle, Jim Houston. “When I was young, I heard he had been a good player. “He emigrated to Canada with his family about 50 years ago. “I contacted my cousins in Canada to ask about him and they were able to tell me a few things. “He was born in 1923 and went to Harris Academy in Dundee. He was selected to play for Scotland Schoolboys but then the war started. “Around that time, he served in the Merchant Navy. He may have been offered a trial for Everton but the war scuppered that. “After the war, he played junior and might have played for East Craigie. “My cousin says he has a trophy which was awarded to uncle Jim, who told him they only presented 11 or 12 each year. “I remember he worked for NCR for many years before they emigrated. “I would love to get more information on him.” If you’ve got any information on this, or even have a query you would like answered as well, email: jbrown@dcthomson.co.uk.
