Jimmy Stewart responded to the St Michael’s secondary school football team, which featured in BwB on February 17.
“We had a great team at that time and think we hardly lost a game over two seasons,” said Jimmy.
“I think we lifted all the cups and trophies we played for.”
Jimmy is 68-years-old but is still working offshore, and he continued: “Our main rivals at that time was Stobswell but only because they had Peter Lorimer in their side.
“In one game, they beat us 10-1 and he scored all 10 of the goals.
“He really was a one-man team.
“After we played for the school, under Sid Pacione, on a Saturday morning, the whole team would then turn out for The Friary (St Francis) in the afternoon Angus Amateurs under-age leagues.
“Every player in that photo was a good player but there also seems to be two missing.
“John Wilkie and Raymond McHugh were certainly part of the team but are not in the photo for some reason.
“The photo was taken in front of the St Michael’s school gates in Graham Street.”
Jimmy, who lives in Provost Road in Dundee, concluded: “I still see Alex McCarle, John Devaney and Jim Ward every now and then.”
