James Harris, from Invergowrie, recalls a Fife senior side having two excellent full-backs.
“I’ve followed Cowdenbeath all my life as I was born in the town,” said James, a retired electrician.
“I remember in the mid-1960s they had two wonderful and skilful full-backs.
“One was Andy Rolland and the other Bobby Wilson.
“Rolland joined Dundee United and Wilson signed for Dundee.
“The reason I’m getting in touch with BwB is to settle an argument.
“My brother-in-law Bill Henderson is a Dundee United fan, and he said he used to go to United and Dundee home games on alternate weeks back then.
“Bill, who stays in Monifieth, recalls Rolland being signed first for Dundee United, with Wilson going across the road around a year later.
“I’m sure Wilson was the first to leave Central Park.”
Indeed, James ‘wins the bet’.
Wilson signed for Dundee in March 1966, with Rolland, nicknamed “The Major”, joining the Terrors in September the following year.
Wilson played over 400 games for Dundee, while Rolland’s career at Tannadice was just as long, also amassing over 400 games.
After leaving Tannadice, he had spells in America with Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Los Angeles Aztecs.
