Dave Davidson, a former neighbour of mine, sent in photos of his school team winning a five-a-side tournament.
“Our Fintry Primary School 1975 team didn’t do too badly that year as we won the Police Fives tournament at a rain-lashed Caird Park Stadium,” he recalled.
“Our team (first photo) was one of the Mitchell twins in the goal (back), Blair Smart, Dave Davidson, Dave McDonald (back), Derek Patterson and Ian Donaldson.
“As well as playing during a huge storm, the game was noted for being refereed by local senior official John Gordon in his last-ever game (see second photo).”
