My plea for more information on the St Francis BC team photo, which appeared in BwB on December 30, was answered by Brian Moore.
Brian was in the photo and says that he was normally the goalkeeper but, as an outfield player was absent when the photo was taken, he put on an outfield strip.
“That St Francis BC team photo was taken in the 1963-64 season when we beat Butterburn Youth Club 1-0 in the final of the Alliance Cup at North End Park,” said Brian.
“The photo, though, was actually taken at Beechwood Park.”
Brian listed the names in the photo thus: Back row (from left) Willie McKenzie, Brian Moore, Danny Reilly, Gordon Drummond, John Leddie, Rab Heary. Front row Ian McDonald, Alec McCarle, John Wright (with Alliance Cup), Kevin Flood, James Ward.
